Job Description for Raliway Track Assistant / Junior Section Engineer

• Must be able to speak, read and write English adequately
• Must be competent in Excel, MS Project, Email and on-line project record keeping
• Must have a proven ability in managing staff and work teams
• Must be able to manage subcontractors and contracts
• Must have an in depth understanding of project financial requirements
• Must be able to understand and implement safety/rail safety/QA/environmental plans & code requirements
• Must have sound knowledge of Railways
• Must have a tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering
• Must pass JHG pre-employment medical and medical for relevant Track Access Accreditation
• Must have specific experience in track design/construction/maintenance
• Previous work experience as a track construction engineer or Assistant Section Engineer or similar of rail network for some 5 years is preferred
